BRUNO FERNANDES has hailed Juan Mata as the Spaniard prepares to leave Manchester United.
The popular Spaniard joined Manchester United from Chelsea in 2014.
Although not a regular starter, he made 285 appearances for the club.
Mata, 34, follows Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard in leaving on a free transfer but received a glowing tribute from the Red Devils on his exit.
Now, while sharing several snaps together, Fernandes has offered his own tribute to the striker on social media.
He wrote: “A legend, a magician, a mentor and a true friend!
“Couldn’t be luckier to find someone to look up to and learn from in this debut at @ManUtd and the @premierleague.
“It was a pleasure to play alongside you, but more than that it was amazing after this time to have you as a friend.”
Mata has scored 51 goals and provided 47 assists in his 284 appearances for United.
Despite his advanced age, Mata is unlikely to retire this summer.

While his next club is currently unknown, The temperature have signaled that he may be willing to stay in England.
And he refuses to rule out a potential move to a Premier League rival.
Mata has already been linked with a return to Spain, Barcelona are reportedly interested.
However, the cash-strapped Catalan giants might struggle to cover his wages.
Real Sociedad are also said to be interested in the midfielder.
