Scientific Steering Committee
Role of the Scientific Steering Committe
The Scientific Steering Committee is a group of representatives,
comprising
- Members of the Executive Committee
- Appropriate scientific representatives
- Representatives from key stakeholders such as the Marine Board – ESF, the European Commission and relevant NGO’s
- Observers from Census of Marine Life projects with a strong European lead
The members of the SSC
represent their own country and region at the European Census of Marine
Life Regional Implementation Committee level. They will promote CoML to
scientists, funding agencies and the general public, particularly within
their region and will report back to the SSC. They will also seek to
identify new areas for CoML expansion.
